Hello sweethearts!

Several days ago is my dad and little brother's birthday.

Okay. He's not little anymore.

He is 13 years old this year, but still he is my sweet little brother. They are the only guys in the house and share the same birthday, isn't it sweet? I always think so!

So for the very first time, I baked a birthday cake! Yay!

For both layer, I baked carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I forgot to take picture of the inside part due to the nervousness while making this. Hahaha.

For the white fondant, I use marshmallow fondant recipe that I found online and the black fondant is store-bought. Marshmallow fondant is actually too sweet for me (although I am a sweet tooth person) and the store-bought fondant tastes quite nice! I think next time I will just buy ready-to-use fondant.

I put a few drops of food coloring to the white fondant for the roses. To make the roses, I just cut it into a rectangle and roll it. So easy and cute ! xD

I am sooooo happy that they all like it although it was a bit too sweet! Hope that I can make another birthday cake, it's a super exciting thing!

With love,
Julia

Happy Birthday, Mom ♥

Hello people :D

Today, 28 August, is my beloved mom's birthday. So yesterday I did another paper quilling! xD

Still with the same 130 gsm papers, but I cut it into 1cm strips instead of 4mm. I just thought thicker paper will make it cuter, and YES IT IS.

I love making swirls, I use A LOT and I love it

I messed the inside part a bit, especially the 'O' letter. Just act like you didn't see, please...

That's my quick post for today! See you next time ♥

With love,
Julia ♥

Hi people!

Another post, at last! I've finished my exam and came back to my hometown for holiday last Sunday. ;)

Today is my dad and little brother's birthday. Yes, both of them share the same birthday and I always think it's cute. ♥

We have an early celebration for them last Sunday and Mom bought a pretty rainbow cake. I love it so much and I know I'll love it more if it was made by me!

bought at Ligo Bakery, each layer has its own taste :D

We bought a school bag for my brother and for Dad, I did something fun : paper quilling! This is my first quilling and I had so much fun!

I didn't use that ready-to-use quilling paper and I bought 130 gsm color paper instead. I cut it to 4mm width paper strips and it's just perfect. After all the gathering ideas from my sisters, measuring, cutting, and writing some words, I put the outline. I had a little hard time shaping the paper, maybe a heavier paper will make life easier. But I love 130 gsm paper for the design inside.

Done a letter here. I tell you, use white glue, my friend. It will be invisible after it dries although you've poured a bunch of glue on it.

Okay.

Just kidding.

I've never poured the glue so I have no idea whether it will be invisible or not. But I used quite a lot of glue and nobody can see it, I assure you. ;)

I didn't buy special tools for this. I just roll it without paper piercing tool. To roll the paper easier, I soften the tip of the paper by sliding my thumb and index finger on it several times. And to help me to put the paper in place on the base, I used any tweezer available at home.

Eyebrow tweezer, for instance.

What a multi-function thing, isn't it?

I mean, maybe you will need those cool tools one day, but for this simple project, I prefer this method. :D

Paper quilling requires time and patient. So find your free time, brew a cup of tea *for me, snack is crucial*, turn on the music, and have a lovely time with the papers!

Done! ♥

Hope he likes it.

Happy birthday, Dad and lil' bro! ♥

With love,
Julia ♥

Hello, candies~! ♥ ;)

It's 8th January today and I wonder if it's too late to say 'Happy New Year!' to all of you guys... Well, just hope we can be better this year and learn much more valuable things for our life~

Another pretty late thing to tell, I went for cruise trip last christmas with my family and it was awesome~

That's a week before Christmas Day and my older sister so insisted that we have to go for holiday. We really had no idea where to go as her holiday was almost over and dad casually suggested a cruise vacation. Mom immediately called an agent to take care everything for a 3-nights-trip and a week later we're in HarbourFront Centre Singapore, ready for it!

while waiting for the queue, took another picture~

once we enter the cruise ship, each person will get this card to enter the restaurants and our room

covered with pretty carpet ♥

sometime use the stairs is a better idea... ;)

we had a great gala dinner afterwards ;) ♥

By the way, each night they will leave a schedule for the next morning in your room, so it's better for you to read it all so you'll know what to do and of course, what to eat in the next day! ;)

Overall, it's a perfect trip and I really re
commend this~!

With love,
Julia
