Crocheted Monkey

I recently found out that one of my friend is a fan of monkeys! She collects various sizes of monkey dolls and asked me if I can crochet a little monkey for her. And of course I said YES! I love when people ask me to bake or crochet something for them, it helps me to challenge myself and learn, and at the same time make them happy!

Frankly, I am used to reading charts, like what I did for my previous amigurumis. I think it's easier to see rather than reading row-by-row written instruction. But well, sometimes you just have to learn when there's no other choice, right? It happened to me when I saw Bethsco Blog's adorable monkey. Bethany's pattern is quite easy to follow and the outcome is superb! Oh, I am so glad that I tried it out. Thank you so much, Bethany!

Andddd, YES! My friend loves it so much!
Happy crocheting, everyone!

Hello sweet cookies!

My love to peanut butter is severe. I can lick spoonfuls of peanut butter just like that! As many people say, peanut butter is good for your health but still, too much is less. Anyway, I still love you, peanut butter.

Despite my fondness, I have never bake peanut butter cookies before. I have mentioned before that my family prefers crunchy cookies, so I think this cookies will not be a good idea. But really, how can I bear with the cuteness of this cookies?

I actually change some of the ingredients, so I am sure that the result is not as good as the original recipe. I used margarine instead of shortening and my honey was very thin, making the dough soggy. The taste is as expected, soft and chewy cookies full of peanut taste. My family loves the smell but not the texture, so I think I might make it again only if I crave for light soft cookies. But if you are a fan of soft cookies, this recipe is worth trying!

Lemon Chiffon Cake

3 months holiday is always amazing! I will be having my holiday until the end of March and I don't want it to pass too fast.. My last semester will be started in April, submit the dissertation, then internship, and graduation in 2015! Oh, how time flies so fast.

Since this holiday started, I bake every single day. Yess! Every. Single. Day. I did not take picture all the time though, finding perfect lighting and also mood is not easy, so I end up with only a few pictures.

Chinese New Year is cominnggggg~ I spent this last 2 weeks preparing cookies, although me and my family will not be here for the first few days of CNY. We are going to Kuala Lumpur to spend CNY together with my younger sister, can't wait to bring my cookies for her!

Actually I baked this Lemon Chiffon Cake during last holiday in August, but I only managed to post in today. I had a wonderful time during last holiday and forgot to post it in this blog! *innocent face*

This chiffon cake is lovely! My family is a fan of soft, airy, not too sweet cake and this one is a favorite. I also love the lemony flavor from the cake.

Creamy Coconut Cupcakes

Last Christmas I received wonderful muffin pans from my godmother. She's a very understanding lady and know me very well! I have been looking for muffin pans, so I called her to ask where I can find it in Selangor. I did not expect that she would give me muffin pans as Christmas gift and I was so exhilarated!

I wanted muffin pans so so bad after I saw some recipes on Pinterest. Yes, I never had muffin pans before and I bake them in mini tart pans like my chocolate chunk muffins and donut muffins. Still so adorable to see, but I wanted the REAL pan!

Actually I have baked a few cupcakes before I make this coconut cupcake, but some were eaten before I have chance to take picture and the rest were not really my family's favorite, so I don't bother to post it here. For this Creamy Coconut Cupcake, I think the combination of coconut and cream cheese is so unique and fabulous! What I love the most is the chewy shredded coconut inside. My family and friends loves it so much, that is why I think this recipe is a must to bake!

Cornflakes Cookies

Seriously, I can't help myself to bake everyday! My hands feel extremely itchy if i just sit and do nothing. I love to be productive, feel so satisfied in the end of the day that I have learn something each day.

As I have restocked the baking ingredients at home yesterday, I am ready for another recipe! Yay!

Chinese New Year is coming and I just can't wait! These few weeks before CNY, I have collected some recipes from my favorite blogs and webstites that I think will be easy to make and also yummy! One of the recipe is Rasa Malaysia's Cornflakes Cookies. It is a bit different from most of the cornflakes cookies in my place. In this recipe, she rolls the cookie dough into the cornflakes, whereas in our place, we usually mix the cornflakes with the batter together. And yes,  I love the look! For the taste, just make sure you use high quality butter because all the taste and smell depending on it, and your cookies will be wonderfully crunchy and buttery.

Just a few months ago I found a kiosk in Sunway Pyramid selling this cool stuff and I was soooo excited. I think I have bought 4 kits so far, but I only finish this one after these few months. Hahahaa.. Sometimes I just need the mood to come out to do something, even if it's a thing that I like.

In the box, you will get a canvas with frame, a set of acrylic paints, brushes, and hanger. Basically, you only have to paint according to the number and that's it! It is pretty easy to do, really, it only requires patient. ;) I really love the outcome! It looks sooo pretty

As I leave the box and all the stuff in Malaysia, can I just use the pictures I found from the internet? *puppyeyes* Thank you! xD
